I just purchased my first running skirt. (Target clearance!!!) I’ve been wanting one for a while but have been hesitant to get it. Why? Because I was afraid I wouldn’t look as tough running wearing it!
You might think this is weird, but there are plenty of female runners out there who scoff at the runner who wears a skirt!
So what do you think? Do you wear a running skirt? Do you think it diminishes the athletic talent of a female runner?
(I think it’s mighty sassy and I’ll never pass up an opportunity for some sass. There are SOOO many cute ones out there!)
I don’t think there’s ever a time to pass up being girlie! I say yay to the running skirt!
i have one, but didn’t like the inner thigh rubbage. so i’ll stick to my knee length shorts stolen out of my hubby’s stash. more power to ya though!
I like them. I have two. What I like is when thighs rub causing shorts to ride up, the skirt still kind of covers you.
I think it’s CUTE ‘n SASSY! I will be lookin for me one! 😉
I own at least 6 of them (maybe more, I’d have to really think about it), and I love them! There’s nothing wrong with wearing them – you can look plenty tough, yet have a bit of girly flair at the same time. Plus, most come with at least one pocket (which none of my shorts have) which can come in handy for stashing Gu, etc, on the run. There are a lot of great skirts out there, but they can be really pricy. Two of my favorites came from the discount rack at a race expo. 🙂
I say YAY! Nothing wrong with feeling cute, feminine and healthy all tat the same time! 🙂
I say “yes!” Super cute!
Hip Hip Hoor-Yay!!!! LOVE it! I have one but I’m too self conscious about someone accusing me of being immodest so I only wear it in my house to exercise – Keith likes it lol! 🙂
I LOVE it. I say YAY! You are adorable and I don’t think it diminishes the look of athleticism at all. I think of Serena Woods, as a tennis player, she is amazing, and her wearing a cute skirt doesn’t lessen that a bit!
<3 the skirt! And your Arms are to DIE for!
SUPER cute as always Clare!!!! Do they have built in shorts underneath?
Yes they do Janelle! Thank goodness because I wore them to pilates the other night. My body is everywhere but on the mat! LOL
Is it comfortable to run in? I guess if it’s comfortable and you like it “yay” for you. But it still seems weird! Can’t help it!!
I just found your blog. Look I say if you got the legs and thighs go for it. The only problem I see is when I run I see some women who have no idea what skirt length is appropriate. One day out running I saw a woman whose skirt hem barely covered her cheeks and I was like “OMG, whatever”. Im thinking she was going for the “Hey look at me and my butt” look.
So I do think it can be a vanity thing for some women who just want men (or women) to look at their legs and butt. Id wear them but Im too skinny. Not a good look for me. But they look good on you.
