One of the most important things writers–blog or book–need to know is who their audience is. I have to be honest. I’ve been at this blog for a year…..
I STILL struggle with finding who I’m writing to.
♦ Am I writing to Christians or non-Christians?
♦ Am I writing to the fitness lover or the fitness hater?
♦ Am I writing for someone who needs a kick in the tail or someone who needs a big hug?
I also am struggling with finding my voice.
♦ Do I write only about fitness?
♦ Do my readers want to hear from me through the day or not?
♦ Do I really show my full personality on the blog? (I admit, it hasn’t because I’m a little CRAZY!)
The reality is, my life is not all about exercising and eating right. In fact, that’s a small part of it. My days are spent training up and loving our children, being a helpmeet to my husband, cleaning the house, finding good deals, talking with friends and walking with the Lord.
All this to say, God is still working on me and giving me a vision for what I want for the blog. I have some ideas of how I want to move over the next month, but I’d like to hear from you!
I want to use this space, my gifts and my time to benefit those who are listening. I want to “feed the people at my table” in the BEST way, so that’s why I’m coming to you!
Would you mind helping me out? Could you complete this 5 question survey?! Thank you!
Thank you for encouraging us busy moms who desire to be healthy, active, fit and godly.
Wohoo!!!! The next hair video will be on Peak 313!!! Holla!
Clare- You have an awesome platform here to share anything that is on your heart. You have already incorporated faith into your fitness, but the theme of your blog could also be fitness of the body, soul, mind and various areas of life like eating, mothering, marriage and anything else that God lays on your heart. I love your videos and your blog and I can’t wait to see what God will do in and through you!
You have a gift and I’m sure lots more to say. Go with where you are being lead. I love your fitness and receipes, but it was writing about faith that helped me with the steps God has been wanting me to take…..
I took the survey and said this already, but your blog is perfect the way it is! I love how you weave faith and spirituality into the fitness aspect. It’s very neat to hear your personal stories as well. I especially REALLY love the Wednesday posts with success stories — so motivating! There’s lots of variety (posts, videos), insight and wisdom in every one of your posts, and I thank you for taking so much of your time to share your knowledge with us! Love ya!
I agree. It’s a great site for where I am as it relates to my body. To love the Lord and stay fit! LOL
Am I writing to Christians or non-Christians? I am one but fairly new though I have believed in God for years. I am always looking for strong christian women as mentors.
Am I writing to the fitness lover or the fitness hater? Ha! Both as I have always been interested in fitness but currently am 100 lbs overweight and really struggling.
Am I writing for someone who needs a kick in the tail or someone who needs a big hug? I need both. Someone who will push me to reach my goals but also give a hug when needed.
Do I write only about fitness? No because as you said that is not all your life is about and those other things in life effect our fitness.
Do my readers want to hear from me through the day or not? Either way as I think if you are led to share something than it might be just the right post for a reader to hear.
Do I really show my full personality on the blog? We all are crazy at times and about different things but I like to know that there are others out there going through similar things to me.
Just went through these questions myself a bit. Can I tell you I loved what you write about and come here specifically because I know you are a Christian, wife, mom, and love to be healthy? So how about total health? Body, mind, soul, and spirit. 🙂 You don’t need to change a thing! But if you feel led to, why not? PS Crazy is good.
Ok, so I’ve been expoloring your website more to get ideas for my workouts… Here’s what I would love to see more of… A Plan. I would love to get a plan for a whole workout. I struggle with coming up with what to do while I workout. I usually run (in place) and try some crunches and push ups. But I need more variety to keep me motivated.
And secondly, more excersises that don’t require equiptment. Or uses things commonly found at home. I can’t afford any equipment and often can’t get out of the house (hence running in place at home or circles in my basement:)
Thanks again for all your hard work on this site. I always look forward to reading what you write!
