Recipe: Chocolate Almond Butter Popsicles

July 2, 2013

I found this recipe from The Detoxinista so it’s a variation of  it!

Chocolate Almond Butter Popsicles

♦ 3 large ripe bananas
♦ 1/2 cup chocolate almond butter (*or nut butter of choice!)
♦ 1/2 cup almond milk, or water
♦ 1 tablespoon honey
♦ 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
♦ 1/4 teaspoon salt (*If nut butter has none)

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend. Taste the batter and make sure it’s what you want. The Detoxinista said that the popcicles will taste less sweet than the batter so keep that in mind. Pour into molds and freeze!! Makes 6-8 pops.

Any suggestions on substitutions for someone who hates bananas? (that would be me) 🙂

I know what you mean because I don’t like bananas in my stuff, however, I feel like it’s a very light taste! Other than that I don’t know what to tell you to replace it with!! Sorry!

Avacado is a great sub for the bananas. I made some like this a couple weeks ago and used Avacado, you can’t taste it and it doesn’t turn it green!

How many can you eat a day? It seems sweets are my favorite thing of all.
    Thanks,
    Marie

Thanks for posting the recipe! I believe I took a screen shot of when you shared about it on Facebook! This is much easier to pin and save for later! Cannot wait to hear about your time with Candice!

If I do not have access to chocolate almond butter, can I use just regular almond butter and add some cacao powder? Do you think it might need a bit more honey, in this case?
