Say Hello

clare@claresmith.me

It’s time for another round of “Cut to the cha It’s time for another round of “Cut to the chase” coaching with me!! Gosh I had such a great response a couple of months ago, I thought it may work to open some more slots in June.

Think of these sessions as having coffee with me, and you bringing the burning question or struggle for advice and clarity. There’s (almost!) nothing I’m not willing to dive deep with…. And in some ways, the messier, the better. 😉

Check out my link in bio for open slots and of course feel free to DM or email me with questions! Hope to “chat” with you soon. 🤍
If they could only grasp how much my heart loves t If they could only grasp how much my heart loves them and mind never lets them go. I knew being a mother was a high calling, but man oh man. What catches and keeps me is my prayers for them! Happy mother’s day to all you mamas who get it! ❤️❤️❤️
It’s hard to believe that I’m writing this, bu It’s hard to believe that I’m writing this, but we lost my Grandma Ring suddenly on Monday. 😔She was the ultimate caretaker and a women who knew how to get stuff done! When I moved to Canton to go to college, she would pick me up every Sunday so I could do laundry and go to the grocery. She was a strong Christian woman spending time both at home and at church serving the Lord. Grandma would also help watch my kids all the time when they were younger. They loved going to their great-grandmas knowing they would be spoiled!

I talked about legacy last week in my post about my MIL, and here I am again looking at the one that Gma passed on. There is no doubt that I am who I am today because of the life my Grandma lived. (And there are strong resemblances in our personalities!) My first thought when I heard the news was that my MIL greeted my Gma with a big hug (the newcomer orientation group lol) and what a comfort that was. We sure will miss her but her faith is now sight and what a beautiful thing that is!

(I’ll be back again online soon..🤍)
I’ve been trying to put into words what I would I’ve been trying to put into words what I would say on this post for 18 months now and now the time has come and the words elude me. We lost my mother-in-law, Gina, Tuesday night to cancer and while we knew this was coming, it sure hasn’t made things easier. Thankfully she passed away in the comfort of her home besides her amazing caretakers- Bob, Kory, Jason and Peg.

Gina and I couldn’t be more different in many ways (😂) but we shared 2 things in common: our love for Jesus and our love for Kory and the kids. Her example as a loving wife, mom, gramma and friend was one that I “caught” over the years just by being around her. It’s hard to imagine life without her. We did a lot with them (as did all our friends) and while we still have Bob, I know we’ll never get used to not having Gina. 😢

I often think about legacy and the influence that builds generations. How does this happen in a world that has become so digital and divisive? Well it happens when you live like Gina. Being physically present. Listening intently to the person in front of you. Staying just a little longer. Making the specific food dish your people request. Laugh and keep laughing! And most importantly, leaning into faith in Jesus thru the good, bad and everything in between.

It sure is something to think that at our hardest moment on earth when she took her last breath was her happiest moment because she was in the presence of Jesus. That’s the peace that keeps us going and what she would want you to know too. Thank you for your prayers for our family during this time. We really feel them!
“Remaining under” (endurance) in hardship and “Remaining under” (endurance) in hardship and exhaustion is part of the plan for Christians so if you feel the weight of life on you today, my encouragement is to not wish it away, but to instead patiently endure as you look to Jesus knowing that in His time, it will be lifted! There’s something that hardship does to us that ease never will and that something is called maturity.🤍
