Remember that you have a force working in the world to defeat you! Satan doesn’t want to see you victorious, vibrant and able to do the work of the Lord! He is happy when you are defeated, lifeless and lethargic. Let’s remember who our fight really is against in our struggles towards a healthier life!
If you’ve never turned to Jesus and His Word to help you through your weight loss roadblocks, then I invite you to do that now. Every answer is here. He will fulfill our desires and give us a way out when we are in a bind! It is here for the taking. The question is, will you receive it?
Dear Clare,
I first have to say I never get on the computer this early in the morning but, today I did! And was having this kind of problem fighting me. So this really was, is going to be a BIG help! And I do love the little warrior I want to put him around for thoes days that I may want to or think I am going to slip to make me come back to your post. Well sorry for going on but thank you again! Moya
Thanks for reminding me of these verses–powerful weapons, indeed!
Hi Clare,
I know all the answers are there…but when I am stuck and cry out “why???” I just wish the Book would fall open at the right page.
Are we showing our more true emotional state when we are with our dearest, or when we are alone? In public, around others, I feel so strong, able to stick to my diet & exercise plan (lost 30 pounds this year!!) but when I’m sitting alone and feeling lonely and start questioning everything I’m doing or criticize what’s happened to me and lament my “hopeless” situation, I don’t hear Him or find anything helpful in His Word.
Your specific passages will help me focus, so thank you Clare. I’m sure God isn’t finished with me yet!
Blessings, Linda
Linda, I can relate. Perhaps it is accountability when I’m with others that keeps me on track? Or perhaps shame? I think it is our true nature when we are with ourselves but I also like what Clare said about the devil knowing our struggles and using them against us. And I believe he particularly can try to do us harm when we are alone – particularly about how we feel about ourselves.
Congrats on the 30 lb weight loss!
I can’t find anything when I’m searching in the Bible either. keeping note cards with verses on them help me with that.
Love it! So true!
I’m going to memorize these!
Thank you for this post! I am going to write these verses in my journal.
Love this post, Clare! Thanks!

Awesome post!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this. Blessings to you today & always <3
Love your approach! Awesome!
oh Clare, thank you! I met you this past weekend at Applebee’s, and I have thought so much about your ministry in the last several days. How twisted my (the world’s) view is of food and exercise. I am feeling so challenged by the things you present. I am glad for it, but afraid! It is so hard to overcome cravings, and also to stop viewing my attempts at a healthy lifestyle as being vain or shallow. Sometimes I think that is why I keep failing… Because I haven’t yet been able to change my perspective on living a healthy lifestyle for God and not myself. It is so hard to imagine that you struggle with the same things I do; I left Applebee’s and said to my husband, “I don’t know how she goes into a restaurant and maintains self-control! I had everything on the menu, and I bet she brought her own salad dressing! I’m a failure!” Thanks for what you do…We are blessed to have your input. I’m praying for strength today, just one day at a time.
Hi Clare, I am not sure how this ended up in my feed, but I am thankful that it did. I have been feeling like I was under attack here quite a bit lately. It’s so easy to take that inward and not cry out to the One who loves us more than anything. The Word is a powerful tool and I will add these to my arsenal 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement!
Thank You!! Every Word Is GOD Love For Me and My Heart Dances For Joy With AMEN!!
Thank you Clare for this post. I’m going to write this out and out it on my fridge. You site is a real blessing to me.
Cheers from Down Under 🙂
Thank you! Came across this only today so you are blessing people for years…… lost 6 kilos and feeling mentally happier over last 11 weeks! Exercise diet and concerted scripture study have all worked together
